Appendiceal Duplication

I had a very interesting case the other evening. First, for the uninitiated, it’s usually a bad sign when the surgeon says it was a very interesting case. Generally routine is best.

Anyway, nice 50ish year old female with few days of diffuse abdominal pain now localizing to RLQ. Nausea and vomiting. Anorexia. Acute peritoneal finding […]

iCal - Exchange Time Zone Fix - Chapter 3

I’ve updated the iCal-Invite-Fix script again. This time to allow for adding multiple Exchange servers to the script so that you should only need a single script. The set-up is slightly more complex.

As the image above shows there are now only 2 properties, both of which are lists. These lists work together as an array; […]

Subscribing to Delegated Calendars

OK, I’m fortunate or crazy enough to run my own server using Apple’s OS X Leopard Server software. It has been, at times, very simple and very complex to set everything up. One of the options that I use is the iCal Server so that I can have shared calendars. Once I got it up […]

General Surgery in NY

So here I am in NYC at the American Society of General Surgeons clinical meeting. The program is correctly termed controversies as I’m quite certain many of the described treatment paths would cause you to fail your oral boards.

Of note is that it seems that most of the attendees have been in practice for […]

Importing Mail Message Attachments into Aperture

So I’ve just gotten my new Unibody MacBook and Aperture. Immediately I find myself wanting for a Quick Look > Add to Aperture just like there is for iPhoto. Unfortunately it’s nowhere to be found. Fortunately Aperture is scriptable.

Version 1.0 of SaveAttachments2Aperture is now available. It’s currently very simple with little error checking. It works […]

Election Postmortem

Barack Obama is the POTUS-Elect. Congrats. I’m so glad it was decisive and isn’t going to have lawyers involved. I have to say I called this in November, 2007 and wrote about Obama four years ago. I wish him all the best our country needs it’s best and brightest working together.

Prop. 8 in my home […]

Laptop Envy

OK, I have serious laptop envy. I need a new MacBook. Just have to figure out what to do about no firewire drive.

Washington Priorities

The current financial meltdown is the news of the day and the politicos in Washington are trying to fix/solve the problem.

Why is it then that the solution is 400+ pages long and contains crap like money for wooden arrow makers and wool studies?

Is Washington so riddled with ADD that they can’t keep their eye on […]

New iTunes Store

I just went to the App Store in iTunes and the choices to see All iPhone Applications, All Free Applications and All Paid Applications are now gone.

Please bring it back. I want to be able to see all applications sorted by recent.

McCain Campain on Hold??

This is joke right? Who advises these people.

On the other hand, my congratulations go out to President Obama.

Addendum: This political stunt only works for McCain if he blows up any existing plan supported by the Dems (done) and his proposed plan gets instituted and actually works.

Side note: The Dems could, in theory, pass whatever plan they want […]
