I was in Newport Beach today giving a talk on Breast Cancer for the [American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery][ascbs]. It’s actually a very good meeting. The talk went well and since I gave it last year there were many more general surgeons in attendance and many more questions.
I try to drive home 3 basic points.
1. If you don’t normally take care of breast cancer, don’t start. Find someone who does.
2. If your patient is looking for a revision of previous implants and something doesn’t _feel right_ on exam, have it checked out.
3. Always get a screening mammogram prior to a cosmetic breast procedure.
