[NEUROSURGEONS ATTEMPT TO INTIMIDATE EXPERTS][1]
> Well, neurosurgeons have decided to put a stop on suits against neurosurgeons. How? The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) has decided that any expert who testifies against one of its members should have their testimony subjected to review by their organization.
Personally, I think this is less about stopping expert testimony than making sure that expert testimony is really *expert*. I really believe it’s a quality control issue. As we’ve seen in the cosmetic surgery legal battles, there are a plethora of *board-certified plastic surgeons* ready and willing to testify to all manner of misdeeds done by *non-board-certified plastic surgeons* performing cosmetic surgery. It’s a turf war that is actually sanctioned at the board level by the [ASPS][2].
