My son is a 4th grader. In California that means that they are studying the Missions of California. I don’t know when this started — I didn’t study California Missions when I was in the 4th grade here.
Anyway, Kathy decided that since Jonathan was studying the Mission at San Juan Capistrano that we should go. So we went this past weekend. It was beautiful. The gardens, the mission, the chapel. All very worth the trip if you’re ever in the area. Just be sure to figure out where the hotel is before you go. Also, go early in the morning when the Mission first opens. There are fewer crowds and the pictures are easier to take.
